Resume Aesthetics Evaluator
Overview
This skill evaluates the visual aesthetics of PDF resumes, providing critical and actionable feedback to improve the document's professional appearance and readability.
How to Evaluate
When evaluating a resume PDF, analyze the following aspects:
1. Layout & Structure
- Is there a clear visual hierarchy?
- Are sections well-defined and easy to distinguish?
- Is the page balanced (not too heavy on one side)?
- Is there appropriate use of whitespace?
- Does the content fit well on the page without feeling cramped or sparse?
2. Typography
- Are fonts professional and readable?
- Is font sizing consistent and appropriate (headers larger than body)?
- Is there too much variety in fonts/weights (should limit to 2-3)?
- Is line spacing comfortable for reading?
- Are font colors appropriate (not too light, not distracting)?
3. Spacing & Alignment
- Are margins consistent throughout?
- Is spacing between sections uniform?
- Is text properly aligned (left-aligned body text is best)?
- Are bullet points indented consistently?
- Is there enough breathing room between elements?
4. Visual Hierarchy
- Can a reader quickly scan and find key information?
- Are the most important elements (name, job titles) prominent?
- Do section headers stand out appropriately?
- Is there a logical flow from top to bottom?
5. Overall Impression
- Does it look professional and polished?
- Is it visually appealing without being distracting?
- Would it make a good first impression?
- Is it ATS-friendly (not too complex for parsing)?
