Exa MCP

Use Exa for web search, code context, crawling, and research tasks. This skill documents Exa’s MCP surface and tool parameters.

When to use (decision guide)

• get_code_context_exa: library/API docs, SDK usage, programming questions
• web_search_exa: general web research + citations
• deep_researcher_start: multi-source synthesis; complex topics
• crawling_exa: extract full text from a known URL
• Repo docs/Q&A: prefer DeepWiki first

Freshness tips

• Use livecrawl="preferred" for newest pages
• Use type="deep" for broader coverage

Notes

• company_research_exa and linkedin_search_exa are noisy + long; use only when user explicitly asks for company/people research.
• deep_researcher_start is slow and may cite mixed-quality sources; cross-check key claims.
