name: create-briefing-entry description: Creates a new Notion database entry for daily briefings. Triggers on "Create a briefing entry for [date]", "Initialize today's briefing", "Set up a new daily briefing". Called by briefing-generator orchestrator as step 1. Validates date, checks for existing entries, applies standard template, initializes Status=Collecting, Phase=1-Email.

Create Briefing Entry

Creates new daily briefing entries in the Notion database with proper template structure.

Input Parameters

Execution Workflow

Step 1: Validate Date

  • Format must be YYYY-MM-DD
  • Must be a real date (no 2026-13-45)
  • Use system date for "today" references

Step 1.5: Format Title

Generate a human-readable title from the date:

Format: "Day, Month Date Year" (e.g., "Wednesday, January 14, 2026") Use full day name (Monday, Tuesday, etc.) Use full month name (January, February, etc.) This will be used as the page title property

Step 2: Check for Existing Entry

Tool: notion_query_database
