Purpose

Merge the currently checked-out Git branch into main.

Instructions

Check git status to ensure there are no uncommitted changes: git status

Get the name of the current branch: CURRENT_BRANCH=$(git branch --show-current)

Switch to the main branch: git checkout main

Pull the latest changes from the remote main branch: git pull origin main

Merge the previously active branch into main: git merge "$CURRENT_BRANCH"

If merge conflicts occur, resolve them manually, then run: git add . git commit

Push the updated main branch to the remote repository: git push origin main
